On Saturday , September 10 2016, the Gilruth Center at the Johnson Space Center was filled with approximately 400 people surrounded by casino tables, music and food. The NASA/Clear Creek, Friendswood Metro Go Texan Subcommittee of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo hosted their 3rd annual casino night and it was, once again, a huge success.
When you hear the words “Rodeo” and “Go Texan” you think fun, concerts, and cowboy styling. Those are valid associations, but they don’t quite get to the heart of the matter. It is about encouraging education, and providing the funds for education.
The NASA/Clear Creek/Friendswood Metro Go Texan sub-committee members invest their time and energy in support of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. In turn, the HLS&R supports the education of youth awarding more than $800,000 in scholarships to seniors in our Bay Area Houston high schools.
